It integrates the Shimano drive system seamlessly and sets a new benchmark for trail performance. Despite the high price, the bike's overall performance justifies the cost.

The MERIDA eONE-SIXTY 700 strikes a great balance between agility and composure, excelling on various types of descents while being comfortable for long rides. Despite some uphill weaknesses, its excellent all-round performance, neat integration of the Shimano EP8 motor, and high-quality frame make it a top contender in its price range. However, the mixed drivetrain and wheelset quality leave room for improvement.

The Santa Cruz Heckler MX X01 AXS RSV is a versatile bike suitable for all skill levels delivering agile handling and supportive suspension on trails. Its sensitive rear suspension and relaxed pedalling position offer a high level of comfort, especially on long tours. Although the positioning of the power button is awkward and the front lifts slightly on climbs, the bike is a well-rounded choice for various occasions.

The 2024 Santa Cruz Heckler SL light eMTB's design, high-quality build, and value are exceptional. It's performant, comfortable, and reliable, although it lacks some innovations. The product is worth the wait, delivering a great ride quality and being appealing to both beginners and experienced riders due to its intuitive, balanced handling.

In terms of trail performance, integration, and connectivity, Shimano’s new EP8 motor is among the best, leaving its predecessor far behind: a huge leap in performance!
