However, what goes around comes around, because high-end collaborations between car manufacturers and micromobility manufacturers have marked the 2020s. The Bytech/ Bugatti partnership is no different. Luxury French automotive manufacturer Bugatti’s foray into the world of e-scooters was met with excitement.
New York-based manufacturing conglomerate Bytech took over the manufacturing arm for licensed Bugatti e-scooters priced like flagships. However, are you paying for a brand name? Or do you get the luxury hypercar-level quality and performance in an e-scooter?
The Bugatti 9
Priced at $764, the Bugatti 9.0 electric scooter is the base version of the company’s electric scooter series. For that price, you get a 300W rear-hub motor and a 374 Wh battery. This combination gets you to a top speed of 18.5 mph and can run for 22 miles (35 kph) per full charge.
The scooter is built around a magnesium alloy frame and weighs in at 35 lbs (16 kg). Its flowing lines are very reminiscent of the sporty design of Bugatti cars. However, it features no suspension. It does feature a rear Electronic Anti-Lock Braking System (e-ABS), which helps prevent skidding or spinning out under braking.
Additionally, the scooter features a digital LED display, turn signals, side deck glow, and a rear monogrammed “EB” projector. Its foam-core 9-inch tires will keep you going for a little while even if punctured, which is always a bonus. The scooter can handle a total weight of 242 lbs (110 kg).
The Bugatti 9 Pro
Priced at $899, the upgraded version of the Bugatti 9.0 features a 350W rear-hub motor and the same 374 Wh battery. However, due to the upgraded motor, the manufacturer claims the maximum range has increased by 3 miles to 25 miles on a full charge.
Much like the base version, the Pro version features front brakes, rear e-ABS, no suspension, and a rigid Magnesium alloy frame. The E-scooter still weighs 32 lbs (16 kg) and can support a load of 242 lbs (110 kg). However, for all the similarities, the Pro version features a larger digital display.
The Bugatti 10 Max
Priced at $1600, the flagship scooter in this series features a 500W rear-hub motor and a 561 Wh battery. The manufacturer estimates that this supercharged combo can keep you going for 30 to 37 miles. The scooter can achieve a top speed of 22 mph and weighs around 48 lbs (22 kg).
The scooter’s 10-inch tubeless tires make for worry-free riding because they can keep going in the case of a puncture. This one is similarly constructed of alloyed Magnesium; however, the scooter’s stem is made of aluminum. These extra reinforcements and mass mean the scooter can support a weight of 186 lbs (130 kg).
Unlike the other two entries on this list, the 10 Max features a rear shock absorber that keeps you stable and comfortable on bumpier rides. It also features the same bells and whistles, including turn signals, rear lights, a sleek design, and a monogrammed “EB” projection at the back.
The Answer To Our Question
At the beginning of this piece, we asked whether we are paying for a brand name. Or do you get the luxury hypercar-level quality and performance in an e-scooter? The short answer: no.
Street-legal hyper-scooters that can hit higher top speeds and have longer ranges are a dime a dozen in 2026. Some of them even have a massive dual-suspension set-up that keeps you comfortable on the bumpiest of rides.
In summary, if you pay full price for the 10 Max or the 9 Pro, you’d be overpaying for an otherwise average e-scooter.
