Canadian electric bike company Biktrix has developed the XD motor, a powerful motor that circumvents the common problem of breaking chains and gears in e-bikes because of high power. Unlike traditional e-bikes, the XD motor uses a second independent power transfer system, directing human power to the equipment designed for humans, and motor power to a stronger set of components. The Biktrix XD comes with a claimed '2,000+ watts' and the motor seems capable of much higher peak power levels. The XD motor system will feature in the new Biktrix Juggernaut XD, set to be released this summer.
