Fringe Tax Benefit
Employers are set to be able to offer their staff ebikes without incurring fringe benefit tax. “To put this into an example, if a e-bike ordinarily cost $3000, that might actually cost an employee $4500 of pre-tax earnings, so the employee may reduce their pre-tax earnings by $3000 and receive a bike - the employer may choose to provide their own subsidy or contribution also to reduce the actual cost to the employee.

Rebates
The Tasmanian Government has committed $10 million to deliver the climate change action plan, which includes rebates and subsidies for electric bikes. The plan will help reduce emissions and increase carbon storage by 2030. The subsidies and rebates will help make electric bikes more affordable and accessible to the public.
