How do ebike motors work?

Ebikes are equipped with electric motors that provide power to the wheels, either through a pedal-assist system or a throttle-based acceleration. Pedal-assist motors are activated when the rider pedals the bike, and they provide additional power as the rider pedals harder. Throttle-based motors are activated by twisting a grip or pressing a button, and they provide power without the need for pedaling.
