How do electric bike motors work?

Electric bike motors work by using a battery to power the motor, which is usually located either in the hub of the wheel or in the frame of the bike. When the rider starts pedaling, a sensor activates the motor, which provides additional power to help propel the bike forward. This is known as pedal-assist. Some electric bikes also have a throttle-based acceleration system, which allows the rider to control the amount of power delivered by the motor with a hand throttle, similar to a Motorcycle. The power output of an electric bike motor varies depending on the specific model, with some providing just enough assistance to help the rider up hills, while others are designed for higher speeds and greater acceleration.
