How fast does a ebike go?
The speed of an electric bike, or eBike, can vary depending on factors such as motor power, battery capacity, and LOCAL regulations. In general, most ebikes can reach speeds of up to 20 mph (32 km/h) with pedal-assist, while some models can go faster than that. However, it's important to note that laws regulating eBike speed can vary by location. In the United States, for example, federal regulations classify ebikes with maximum motor power of 750 watts and a top assisted speed of 20 mph as bicycles, but state laws may also come into play.
