What are Texas electric scooter laws?

Texas electric Scooter laws regulate the use of electric scooters, also known as e-scooters, in the state. Under these regulations, electric scooters are considered motorized vehicles and must follow the same rules as bicycles and motorcycles. Riders must be at least 16 years old, have a valid driver's license, and wear a helmet. Electric scooters are allowed on roads with a speed limit of 35 miles per hour or lower, as well as sidewalks and bike lanes where permitted. Riders must also yield to pedestrians and follow all traffic laws. It is important for riders to familiarize themselves with these laws to ensure their safety and compliance while operating electric scooters in Texas.
