What is a class 1 ebike?
A Class 1 electric bike, also known as a pedal-assist bike, is an eBike equipped with a motor that provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling. The motor stops providing assistance when the bike reaches speeds of 20 miles per hour. Class 1 ebikes are allowed on bike paths and roads where traditional bicycles are permitted, but may be restricted from certain locations such as national parks. They typically have smaller motors and are designed for comfort and commuting rather than high-performance use.
