What is a class 2 electric bike?
A Class 2 electric bike is a type of eBike that is equipped with a throttle that can be used to control the speed of the bike, in addition to pedal-assist. This means that the rider has the option to use the throttle to power the bike without the need to pedal. Class 2 ebikes are typically limited to a top speed of 20 miles per hour (mph) and are permitted in most states and cities, although there may be LOCAL regulations that vary. Other technical features of Class 2 ebikes may include motor power, battery capacity, pedal assist levels, frame materials, wheel size, suspension, brakes, and drivetrain. Class 2 ebikes are often used for commuting, recreational riding, or as an alternative to a traditional bike.
