A Bosch Performance Line Speed motor powers the Diamondback Union 1, a Class 3 drive e-bike that offers pedal assistance up to 28 mph. A Bosch PowerTube 400 battery is hidden in the downtube of the aluminum frame, which also has internal cable routing, discrete branding, and a matte finish.
The Union 1 is a solid performer. This is made possible in part by the 27.5-inch wheels and wide 2.4-inch tires, which offer stability and traction on a variety of surfaces. Additionally, the through-axles on the front and rear wheels make for stable, quick handling.

The Union 1 is a great addition to the Diamondback line with its stellar performance and some amazing commuter-friendly features. However, for someone who is new to e-biking, it might be a bit difficult to get into muscle memory because of its heavy weight and some budget-minded components.


Dropbar electric bicycles like the Diamondback Current are comfortable on both main roads and side streets. Having some modest gravel and dirt road capability is made possible by the wide handlebars and 40mm Maxxis tires.
