Electric Bike Rebates and Tax Credits

The government of Steiermark, Austria is offering a one-time, non-repayable subsidy for the purchase of new electric or non-electric cargo bikes. Individuals with a primary residence in Steiermark can receive a subsidy of 25% of the investment amount (including VAT), up to a maximum of €500. Companies with a business location in Steiermark can receive a subsidy of 25% of the investment amount (excluding VAT), up to a maximum of €400. Only one subsidy can be granted per applicant, and the application must be submitted within six months of the purchase. The subsidy cannot be combined with other subsidies from other regions. The aim of the subsidy is to reduce emissions from transportation and promote alternative modes of transportation.
