Electric Bike Rebates and Tax Credits

Bordeaux Metropolis has offered residents assistance in purchasing electric-assist bikes, folding bikes, cargo bikes, adult tricycles, or standard bike electrification systems since 2012. This scheme has helped purchase over 2,100 bikes for a total of €430,000 and is supported by the State's "Breathable Cities in 5 years" program. Bordeaux Metropolis renews the assistance program until 2023 with subsidies of €100 available for the purchase of an electric-assist bike, folding bike, cargo bike, adult tricycle, or standard bike electrification system. The program is available to metropolitan area residents and employees of companies located on the metropolitan territory having adopted an enterprise mobility plan, up to a tax quotient of less than €2,200.
