Voucher
The Michigan legislature is considering a bill that could reduce the price of electric bicycles for those with limited incomes by offering discount vouchers to buyers. The voucher could be up to $500 dollars or 90% of the retail price of a purchase of an e-bike, whichever is less. Low-income buyers who already qualify for SNAP benefits could receive a larger voucher of up to $1,250 dollars. The Michigan House Transportation Budget has allocated $5 million dollars to fund bike and pedestrian infrastructure in Michigan cities.
