The city of Freising offers a subsidy for the purchase of pedelecs (electrically assisted bicycles) that meet certain criteria, including a maximum motor power of 250 watts and a self-shutoff at speeds over 25 km/h. The subsidy is 30% of the net cost, up to a maximum of 500 €. Additional subsidies are available for pedelecs used in a sharing system and for low-income households. The program also offers subsidies for the purchase of cargo bikes and trailers. To be eligible for the subsidy, the vehicles must be designed for use on public roads and meet certain specifications. Additionally, the vehicles must be charged with renewable energy sources.
