Electric Bike Rebates and Tax Credits

The city of Gunzenhausen has a voluntary program to financially support the purchase of electric cargo bikes and trailers for residents and certain organizations within the city limits. The program aims to increase the use of bicycles for transportation and reduce the need for cars. The supported vehicles must have a minimum load capacity of 40 kg and be used for at least 36 months after purchase. The program provides a 25% subsidy for the purchase price, up to a maximum of 2,000 ř for cargo bikes and 250 ř for cargo trailers. Only one vehicle per applicant can be subsidized within a three-year period, and the applicant must apply before purchasing the vehicle. If the vehicle is sold before the end of the 36-month period, the subsidy must be repaid for the remaining months. The program is not available to government agencies or businesses that manufacture or sell bicycles or related components.
