Electric Bike Rebates and Tax Credits

The city of Heidelberg in Germany supports various environmentally-friendly mobility programs including a grant program that supports the installation of private charging stations and public charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, as well as alternative propulsion systems and fuels. Since August 1, 2022, the e-taxi promotion compensates taxi companies in Heidelberg for additional operating costs when using electric vehicles (battery-electric or fuel cell vehicles).

Heidelberg offers several funding programs to support environmentally friendly mobility, including the e-taxi funding program that compensates taxi companies for the additional costs of operating electric vehicles. The funding program also promotes the transition to public transportation, cycling, and alternative drives and fuels, and supports the installation of private and public charging stations for electric vehicles. Additionally, individuals can receive bonuses for decommissioning a passenger car in connection with the purchase of a cargo bike or bicycle, as well as for the purchase of fuel cell vehicles or the installation of a private charging station.
