The Abruzzo region in Italy is offering a contribution of up to 50% of the cost of purchasing a new bike, e-bike, or electric scooter to promote sustainable mobility. The maximum amount of the contribution is €300, and it is available to individuals over 18 years old who reside in one of the 22 eligible municipalities in the region. The program excludes online purchases and is limited to new vehicles purchased from manufacturers or dealers. The program is in effect until April 24, 2021, and the purchased vehicle must be held for at least two years.
The Emilia-Romagna Region is promoting sustainable mobility with a project called "Bike to Work 2021." Thirteen municipalities with a population of over 50,000 in the West Plain, East Plain, and Bologna can access funding for investment expenses to construct cycle paths and traffic calming measures. The Piedmont Region is offering citizens non-repayable contributions to develop sustainable mobility and reduce atmospheric emissions. The contributions are available to replace vehicles with new low-impact environmental vehicles, replace mopeds and motorcycles with new electric-powered ones, purchase bicycles (including pedal-assisted bicycles and cargo bikes), and scrap vehicles and mopeds/motorcycles without purchasing a new one. The government of Tuscany in Italy is offering bonuses of €50 each to a maximum total of €150 (3 bonuses) to people who purchase new folding bicycles and can also show that they own a valid annual regional pass or at least three monthly regional passes. The scheme is in effect from July 19, 2019 to September 30, 2020. Interested individuals must fill out an appropriate participation form, which they can send electronically, with necessary documents proving traceability of payment, ownership of the required passes, and funding by September 30, 2020.

Residents of Valle d'Aosta can benefit from a non-repayable regional contribution for the purchase of bicycles, including pedal-assisted ones and vehicles for mainly electric personal mobility. The regional contribution is granted in an amount equal to 60% of the expenditure incurred, up to a maximum of 500.00 euros. The regional contribution may be requested for purchases made between 04 May 2020 and 31 October 2020. The contribution is mainly granted on the basis of the possession of self-declared requirements by the applicant. It should be noted that the submission of the grant application does not constitute automatic acquisition of the right to grant it, which is recognized following the positive outcome of the preliminary investigation and based on financial availability.
Private individuals can receive grants for the purchase, leasing or long-term rental of one electric vehicle every two years for cars, mopeds/motorcycles, and cargo bikes. The grant is eligible for various types of new electric vehicles, including battery electric vehicles, H2 fuel cell vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and electric vehicles with two, three, or four wheels belonging to certain classes. Additionally, grants are available for cargo bicycles with electric auxiliary motors. The application must be submitted online before the invoice date, even down payments, otherwise the entire investment benefit will be excluded.

In the city of Bari, Italy, a Bicycle Grant program has been launched under the M.U.V.T. – Livable and Technological Urban Mobility Program. The purpose of the program is to promote healthy lifestyles, sustainable travel and reduce the negative effects of combustion engine vehicles on air quality. The grant offers €150.00 for a new traditional bicycle, €250.00 for a new electric-powered bicycle/electric micromobility device, and €100.00 for a refurbished bicycle. The program is available for all legal-aged residents of Bari and will cover 50% of the amount spent on the purchase. However, the grant is not cumulative with similar public incentives for financing the same asset, and the grant will be reduced by any expenses applied by banks for the bank transfer of the grant.
Residents of Bologna or those who work in the municipality of Bologna for a company with a mobility management agreement can apply for an incentive if they are purchasing an assisted pedal bike or cargo bike. The maximum incentive is €500 for assisted pedal bikes and €1000 for cargo bikes with an assisted pedal, but the incentive cannot exceed 50% of the cost incurred for the purchase of the bike and cannot be combined with additional state benefits or incentives provided by other organizations. The initiative is financed with funds from the National Operational Programme for Metropolitan Cities 2014-2020 and individuals can apply until the available fund is depleted, for bikes and cargo bikes purchased no earlier than June 29, 2022. Required documentation includes an invoice for the purchase, technical specifications (for cargo bikes only), a 16-euro tax stamp, and declaration from the Mobility Manager (for non-residents only).

The Municipality of Castellarano is granting contributions for the purchase of assisted pedal bicycles ("e-bikes") and electric mopeds/motorcycles (scooters) to adult natural persons residing in the municipality, to promote actions for the improvement of air quality. Businesses, including those that sell the vehicles covered by the incentives, are excluded from this policy. Applications can be submitted from 15/05/2021 to 15/10/2021, and the invoices attesting to the purchase must be dated after 01/01/2021 and before 30/09/2021. An extension of the call is allowed until the allocated resources are exhausted, which includes new requests for contributions submitted until 30/11/2021 by people who reside in the municipality. The grant can be paid within 30 days from the conclusion of the definition of the entitled parties, following the delivery by the beneficiaries of the "Form B - liquidation request". The Comune di Concorezzo is offering financial incentives to residents who purchase electric bicycles with pedal assistance. The program is aimed at promoting environmental conservation. The program is open to residents over the age of 14 who agree not to sell their bicycles for two years after purchase. The program offers a one-time grant of €100 for applicants under 65 years of age and €150 for those over 65 years of age. The program is subject to budgetary constraints and applications will be processed in the order they are received. The program will only be implemented after the publication of the new regulations in the Statute of the Comune.
