There will be a bit of a learning curve to mid-drives, but the XPremium is well made and a huge bang for your buck compared to other mid-drive eBikes on the market.

This RX model is the company's first e-bike to feature front and rear suspension. In my opinion, the addition of this inverted coil spring suspension fork with air assist up front and this coil-over piggyback monoshock in the back gives this bike a much better riding feel.

Setting up the scooter was a breeze as it arrived fully assembled, with the exception of attaching the connector plate with four screws. The only challenge I encountered during setup was attaching the brake line, which required a wrench and a bit of muscle to get it into the handle.”

The Mercane WideWheel Pro is the exact opposite of a Jack of all trades. It clearly knows what it’s going for, and it dominates in its intended use cases, through wise design choices but also incredible quality.

There’s a 500W motor that has five different pedal assist levels that allow you to ride at up to 20 MPH with ease. This means you can easily ride up a hill with the bike doing most of the hard work and your pedaling does not have to change. You can even ride for up to 40 miles on a single charge of the GEN3 Stride e-bike, which means you can get to and from work without having to plug back in.

Those dual power packs (the Ultra can also be ordered with a single 672Wh battery) deliver 1,344Wh of battery life to the Ultra’s 750W sustained/1,350W peak rear hub motor with 90Nm of torque, five levels of pedal assist to 28 mph, and a thumb throttle maxing out at 20 mph.

Gen3 The Stride electric commuter bike is one such exception to the cost/quality rule. Powered by a 500W Bafang rear hub motor, a fully integrated 500Wh battery, and a full Shimano Drivetrain, The Stride is a serious contender in the commuter category. The best part, however, is the price — just $1,499 MSRP.

The Austrian-made MPF mid-drive motor is new to us and performs very nicely.

There are some things here that we’d expect to see on much more expensive bikes… the Magicycle Cruiser really feels like a great value.

The bike overall fits several people … I had to try it out. The seatpost has a 2 stage extension that is well marked so that it can fit … small to pretty tall people. My favorite part was the easily adjustable stem. I wish more bikes came with this!

Ultimately, I would recommend this bike to anyone that loves getting some exercise but also doesn’t want to be intimidated by going on a longer ride or going up hills – whether that’s for health reasons or comfort and enjoyment.

When you add in the Class 3 speeds of 28 mph, the high-quality brakes and nice Microshift transmission here, plus that ultra-long range from the double battery option, the Dubbel is looking like an incredible option for a do-everything utility e-bike.

This is a dream bike for a city rider as it is designed to maximize comfort. The step-through frame, the swept-back handlebars, and the adjustable stem all tie together to give each rider the best positioning possible.

The Stride comes equipped with a beefy 500W rear hub Bafang motor. The motor is rated at 900W peak power, which means it’s pretty “torquay.” To be more exact, at the highest speed setting, the bike’s motor provides you with a whopping 65 N/m of torque. And that means that you’ll be able to hit the max speed of 20 miles per hour with just a couple of rotations of the pedals.

It's not intimidating to get started, nor is it complicated to maintain.

The extra power certainly makes sense; with the migration of some design features from the mini-cargo GSD models to the Vektron, the bikes are now so capable of carrying extra loads that the extra motor torque will be more than welcome in a ‘hill and load’ scenario.

With a retail of less than $2000, … this is a terrific-riding e-bike and for anyone looking for an e-bike that is versatile enough to switch between cargo functions and kid-carrying functions, this e-bike has the versatility to do that. And any time someone is riding with a load, we prefer bikes with calm handling, and in that regard, the Generation e1.1 is exceptional.

The combination of a very torquey 750W hub motor, an 8-speed drivetrain, hydraulic disc brakes, the opportunity to order it with two batteries, and a frame design that serves the e-bike’s stated purpose, there is precious little to improve that won’t shift the Dubbel into a more expensive price range.

Though it needs several safety features added to it, you’ll want to check out the Propella V4.0 7-speed electric bike if you need a lightweight, commuter-friendly bike at a fantastic price. Outside of being one of the least expensive e-bikes on the market, the V4.0 is also among the lightest, weighing just 37 lbs. when fully assembled.

I love that Blix has updated their throttle behavior to allow for full power output at any level of assist, even zero. This is handy for getting started from stop signs or traffic signals, catching up with friends, or focusing on balance vs. pedaling when transporting kids and other cargo.

The Escape is an electric bike that you can commute on or ride around for fun; it does both equally well, and its unique design leaves its utility completely up to the rider.
