The single-speed drivetrain means you have to rely on the throttle if you want to get anywhere near top speed, the thumb throttle on the right is right where it should be to make motorcyclists feel at home…

You can consider it if you want a comfortable and inexpensive scooter that will get you from point A to B.

Where the Tero does make sense is as an electric commuter for the rider who will veer onto side trails along the gravel two-track route to and from town, or who has the option of hitting mellower, especially manicured and machine-built singletrack in their ‘hood—and the rest of the time will “shred” their coffee shop commute.

A terrific urban electric scooter with decent uphill and some rugged survival skills, the Segway Ninebot MAX G30LP will take you a long way.

I think it's worth the expense. It looks great. The S2 is a great weekend toy and a great commuter. I just wish it had more power for getting up some hills and getting up to speed quicker.

I absolutely love how silent and sturdy this bike is. This is one of the few folding e-bikes I’ve reviewed where I actually forgot it folded when riding. Aside from the funky looks and small wheels, it handles and feels much like a normal bicycle.
