That was easily my biggest takeaway from my time with the EV – everyone wants to take a picture of it or ask you about it, because it’s unlike anything they’ve ever seen.

The Galaxy 500 is a class 2 e-bike with trigger throttle and pedal assist to 20 mph. It has a well-powered 500-watt mid-drive motor that is safely tucked at the base of the frame for enhanced balance. The bike is priced at $3999, which is on the higher end, but we find the price very reasonable since you are getting a lot of innovative tech and upgraded components on the Evelo Galaxy 500. This is not your standard Chinese-made electric bike.

Since 1892, Royal Dutch Gazelle has been making the finest quality bicycles with a smooth ride, clever design, and robust quality.

The fat tires and suspension do a lot of work to help with this, and I also never felt short on power, thanks to the 750-watt motor. Steep hills gave me zero trouble.

Probably my favorite point of contact by far is the 40mm travel suspension seat post with preload adjust, this is an accessory I always recommend people purchase for their bike because it makes a world of difference, it is rare that I ever see these included, so it is a nice touch to the bike and you don’t have to go out and spend extra money.

These are nifty little gadgets that have proven popular with our testers, and would make ideal gifts for any discerning mini-cyclist.

While the Bunch is clearly designed to be a kiddo-carrying machine, there’s no reason you can’t use the Bunch sans kiddo to carry cargo as well.

The Shuffle is feature packed and offers great protection for your kiddo, with excellent venting, and it looks like a proper little mtb helmet too.

This motor is great fun!

The raised profile and slightly swept back nature of the handlebars also helps give a comfortable and predictable ride.

The biggest thing to know about the scooters is that they are smaller. This means that your teens are either going to quickly grow out of the scooter. This might make it a better option for preteens than for older teens themselves.

During our longer rides, the lube did not attract much grit or get coated with a thick coat of dust. It offered an instantly smooth and quiet shifting throughout.

The acceleration to this top speed is smooth if modest, and there are no wobbles. This is a comfortable acceleration and top speed for beginners, especially since it’s so predictable.

The EVELO Aurora Hub-Drive surprised me with its usability. The ride itself is buttery smooth. Those 3-inch-wide Kevlar wheels will absorb much road damage and add a Suntour front fork, and even the bumpiest trails are manageable. I like this bike.

Overall, Kyle is impressed with the Kandi K27. It's easy on the eyes, fun to drive, and roomier than you might think.

The RadExpand uses microSHIFT derailleur and trigger shifters, which I prefer to the large Shimano SIS Index thumb shifter on prior generations, but I think it’s a cheaper brand.

The finicky shifter could create friction for inexperienced riders. Still, couples or families without small children should put the Model 1 on their list.”

The all-electric Solo three-wheeler deserves praise for innovation and offering commuters a fun way to mitigate the daily grind of getting to work.

Overall, I’ve had great fun with this e-bike and would recommend it to anyone if they just wanted a fun way to complete small commutes.
